Donating Food Items and Cleaning Supplies to Hungry, Disabled, Underprivileged African Children

AfrikRising is a non-profit organization which has vowed to work for the provision of daily-life sustenance of the people.

At Oluyole Cheshire Home – Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Africa, there are a total of 62 children. AfrikRising, a non-profit organization, has donated food items, cleaning supplies and workshop materials to the hungry and disabled kids of the Oluyole Cheshire Home.

Few kids receive education, and those who are not able to go to school, take skills development courses located at the Oluyole Cheshire Home workshop such as computer courses, hair dressing courses, tailoring, and arts and crafts. To assist these children, their needs include workshop materials and other supplies for developing effective skills to allow them to earn money for themselves.

Nwaokonko Henry and Aluka Emmanuel are Board Members of AfrikRising, who have undertaken the responsibility to identify various organizations that have absolutely no resources for daily sustenance. Projects are well underway. One such project took place at Oluyole Cheshire Home at Polytechnic Road, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

The society of Africa is infected with many illnesses such as corruption. Corruption is an illness that destroys the foundation of the society. In such circumstances, the weaker and the innocent bear the greatest weight and loss.

As a result, homes of the disabled and orphanages are given the least food supplies, cleaning supplies and other necessary materials by the government. Africa is poverty-ridden, resulting in organizations doing their part in giving others something for daily sustenance.

Board member, Henry, of AfrikRising has stated, “The project was held on Thursday, 2nd April, 2020. We visited Oluyole Cheshire Home for the disabled. We provided them with yams, beans, eggs, bathing soap, insecticides and palm oil. The staff was so happy to receive us and they were so grateful for what we provided them for the lock down period. They said they would love us to do more in the future for them.”

Adewumi Ojobe, Assistant Matron of the Home stated, “On behalf of the management and resident of Oluyole Cheshire Home, we say a big thank you to AfrikRising for your donation. We pray that the good Lord bless your labour of love.”

Christine Reidhead, Founder and CEO of AfrikRising, expressed gratitude and thankfulness to these organizations who give them the opportunity to serve. AfrikRising is also initiating projects in Ghana Africa, with the main focus placed on schools and orphanages. These projects will empower the African children, and free them of their compulsions, weaknesses and privation.
